Tech Tips

 Tech Tip #8

KX 250F owners beware.  Crank on the left in picture is a brand new OEM 2010 KX 250F crank.  If you compare it to the crank on the right you will see the crank pin was put in backwards.  This won't allow any oil flow to the connecting rod, hence TOTAL FAILURE!!  So if you are replacing the crank on any of your KX 250F's check to see that the dot on the pin is on the clutch side before installing as shown on the crank on the right.

Stroker Cranks

STR offers stroker cranks made to your specs...

Send us your OEM crank (no Hot Rods please) and top end and we will stroke and balance your crank to your specifications.  We do not offer unbalanced stroker cranks as we know it is the balancing that makes the difference.
The price for a stroked and balanced crank is $695 but does not include connecting rod kit if needed.
We build complete stroker performance engines with race proven reliability.  This gives you the opportunity to build yuor own motor with our top quality cranks.

***At STR we always give our customers their parts back so they know what was wrong and what was replaced.  Do other shops do this and if so can you be sure they are your parts?  We are able to rebuild cranks and cylinder cores to save you money.  Other shops may insist you need to replace them with new costing you more money.   Since it will cost you about $800 for us to rebuild them you may choose to have a mod motor built for another $800 resulting in a great new race motor.
